- Real-time operating system support: Platform for Industrial Devices relies on the proven, deterministic, hard real-time characteristics of the industry-leading VxWorks operating system. VxWorks supports user-mode processes and offers advanced memory protection, configurable error management, TIPC messaging, and increased POSIX compliance, as well as local GUI implementation through Wind River Media Library. Symmetric multiprocessing (SMP) support is now available for all VxWorks 6.6-based platforms through the VxWorks 6.6 SMP optional add-on product
